Merced Applegate Park Zoo
Scavenger Hung and Easter Bunny
The Merced Applegate Park Zoo is hosting its Easter Egg-stravagnaza beginning on April 1st-April 4th during regular Zoo hours Thursday-Friday (10am-3pm) and Saturday-Sunday (10am-4pm). Fun filled easter inflatables will surround different exhibits and photo backdrops will be available for family photos. Kids can also participate in an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt as objects are hidden throughout the

Saturday, April 3rd, there will be a special guest appearance by the Easter Bunny. Special appearance times will follow. Families will also have an opportunity to purchase Easter Egg Activity Kits for a small fee in addition to admission. The entrance fee cost is $3 per person per adult (16yrs-62), ages 5yrs-15yrs is $2, 62yrs and older is $1.50, and children under 5 are free.

2021 Charity Benefit Golf Tournament

2021 Charity Benefit Golf Tournament April 24, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Registration Begins at 7:00 a.m./Shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m.

Castle Air Museum is a Non-Profit Foundation dedicated to preservation of military aviation. Currently, the Museum has over 75 vintage military aircraft on display and a few more on the way.

Castle Air Mu not receive any government funding for its upkeep and expansion. The Museum Is maintained by dedicated volunteers and donations from supporters like you. We greatly appreciate your participation.

Open Cockpit Day
May 31, 2021 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Location: Castle Air Museum Museum Grounds Make and take model building for kids, Food Court (burgers, hot dogs, ice cream and more!) Tour the former Presidential Aircraft used by six former Presidential Administrations for only an additional $10 per person!​Courtesy shuttle to view "Hidden Collection" hangar. Make and take model building for kids, Food Court (burgers, hot dogs, ice cream and more!), dozens of historic aircraft open for viewing, flight simulators and numerous children's activities, military and law enforcement displays and more.

.Virtual Commencement in May will celebrate 2020 and 2021 graduates  Fresno State will celebrate the graduates of the Classes of 2020 and 2021 with virtual Commencement celebrations in May. “We are incredibly proud of all that our talented graduating seniors, who have accomplished so much and persevered through adversity,” said Interim President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval. “While we won’t be able to have any in-person contact, we have learned there are many ways to celebrate in a virtual world. I’m sure we’ll see some real creativity,” he said. More information about Commencement will be announced in the future

Virtual  Electronic Music Concert (Modesto, CA)
Modesto Junior College’s Department of Music presents Electrical Thoughts Virtual Electronic Music Concert. This event will live stream on YouTube Wednesday, March 31st at 7:00 p.m. The concert will feature original electronic music compositions created by student composers from the Modesto Junior College Music Technology Program. The composers featured will be Bryce Choy, Finn Derksen, August Eppler, Steven Estes and Mathew Murillo. The music will be created using computers, synthesizers, samplers and digital effects. All of the compositions will be virtual performances some with video displays and some with video recordings of live performances. The MJC Music Technology Director, David Dow, will also present some original electronic music compositions. Week of the Young Child Come join First 5 Merced County and the Merced County Library for the week of the Young Child Drive-Thru Event! Pick up a book bag with books and other goodies for a child aged 0-5. We will have events throughout the county week of April 11- April 17th. Events in Dos Palos, Los Banos, Le Grand, Hilmar, Atwater, Livingston, and Merced.

Love Modesto April 24

Our community needs us now more than ever! There are a lot of really important projects to choose from and more will be added in the coming days to help our community during these challenging times. Our 8am Virtual Rally will be held at LoveModesto.com/virtual-rally before you go to your project locations at 9am. • By signing up for Love Modesto, you will be enterred into a drawing for "A Taste of Modesto", a gift basket filled with 20+ gift cards to restaurants all over Modesto. Winner will be announced during the Virtual Rally! Click on the "Volunteer" button to see all of the April 24 projects being offered. For each project you will see a description, time and project location. All of our projects should end around noon. If you have any projects you would like to see this year, you can Suggest a Project. • Free "Love Modesto t-shirts given out to all volunteers on April 14, 2-5pm. The Bus

All fares to ride The Bus continue to be suspended and mask are still required to be worn at all times while riding. Passengers will be required to remain seated while riding The Bus in order to minimize interactions between individuals; therefore, the number of passengers will limited to the seating capacity of the vehicle. Passengers are advised to space out as much as possible while riding and to kindly avoid contact. All bus schedules and hours of operation can be found at www.mercedthebus.com or by call

Real-time information regarding bus locations, services and arrival times can be found at www.thebuslive.com or by downloading 'The Bus" app on your smart phone for free. All fares are currently suspended due to the COVID-19 emergency. Passengers are asked to only use The Bus to provide or receive essential services and to wear a mask while on board as well as comply with social distancing requirements when possible.

All buses are equipped with bike racks and are wheelchair accessible.

 Atwater Senior Social Club
The Atwater Senior Social Club meets every Tuesday at the Atwater Community Center. Each week, the club members eat lunch and play bingo from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Legal Services Legal assistance is available to senior citizens through Merced County’s Area Agency on Aging. The Family Resource Center
The Family Resource Center announced We are pleased to announce that the Family Resource Center is now located on the Merced County Office of Education complex, at 632 W. 13th Street, Building H in Merced. 

The Family Resource Center serves families by opening doors for a brighter future. Our mission is to connect our families and community partners in a safe, respectful, and trusted environment. We nurture these services by networking, building relationships, and collaborating with our community partners.

We serve and support our families with case management, individualized plans, and locating and providing services. We lead our organizations, families, and individuals by facilitating learning and providing professional development. Although we are limiting physical interaction with the public at this time, it is our intention to continue serving the community and providing resources to families. If you encounter a family in need of assistance, please direct them to our office. We value being part of the MCOE family and believe in the shared mission to Nurture, Serve and Lead in our community.
