The Merced Martin Luther King Committee proudly invite you to join us for the annual unity march and celebration in honor of Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., taking place on January 20th, 2025. This significant event marks 30 years of commemorating the enduring legacy of Dr. King, who inspired a nation with his vision of equality, justice, and nonviolent resistance.
Every year we come together to honor Dr King’s dream of a society where all individuals are treated with, dignity and respect, regardless of their race, color, or creed. The Unity March symbolizes a commitment to these principles and serves as a powerful reminder that the fight for civil rights and social justice is ongoing. By marching through the streets of Merced, we affirm our dedication to fostering a community built on unity and inclusiveness.
The purpose of the celebration is a testament to our collective efforts to build a better, more equitable future. We strive to highlight the importance of Dr King’s work and legacy.
This year’s celebration promises to be vibrant and impactful. Expect to see Senator Anna Caballero, Assembly person Esmeralda Soria, Mayor Matt Serrato, Chancellor Munoz UC Merced, Chief of Police
Steven Stanfield, as well as community activist, students, families, the combined Merced elementary school bands, and individuals from diverse backgrounds coming together to honor Dr. King. From the heartfelt speeches and engaging activities to meaningful discussions and collaborative projects, the celebration offers something for everyone.

The featured speeches for the 2025 Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Unity March and Celebration will be delivered by Pastor Allen Huddleston and Pastor Nailah Hubbard. Allen Brooks will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event.
