Kings Acquire De’Aandre Hunter In Three-Team Trade

The Sacramento Kings announced today that the team has acquired forward De’Andre Hunter from the Cleveland Cavaliers. As part of a three-team deal with Cleveland and the Bulls, the Cavaliers received Keon Ellis and Dennis Schröder while Chicago acquired Dario Šarić and a 2029 second-round draft pick from Sacramento.

Hunter (6-8, 228) is averaging 14.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 0.7 steals in 26.2 minutes per game over 43 games (23 starts) for the Cavaliers during the 2025-26 season.

Originally selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, Hunter holds career averages of 14.7 points (44.8 FG%, 82.5 FT%), 4.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.7 steals in 29.6 minutes per game in 370 career appearances (269 starts) with Atlanta and Cleveland. In 24 career postseason contests (16 starts) with the Hawks and Cavaliers, he is averaging 14.5 points (46.8 FG%, 41.5 3pt%, 80.6 FT%) and 4.3 rebounds in 30.7 minutes per game.

Prior to the NBA, Hunter spent two seasons at Virginia where he averaged 12.4 points (50.9 FG%, 41.9 3pt%), 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 26.6 minutes per game over 71 career games (38 starts). During his sophomore season, he recorded averages of 15.2 points (52.0 FG%, 43.8 3pt%), 5.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in 32.5 minutes per game, earning ACC Defensive Player of the Year, All-ACC First Team and Consensus Third Team All-American honors while helping Virginia win the national championship. As a freshman in 2017-18, Hunter was named ACC Sixth Man of the Year and a member of the conference’s All-Freshman team.
