Public Statement from Playhouse Merced Leadership

By Playhouse Merced Leadership
September 15, 2025

Playhouse Merced has recently taken formal steps to protect the integrity of our organization, our finances, and our mission. A complaint has been filed with the California Attorney General’s Office to ensure that all actions on behalf of the organization comply with nonprofit law, our bylaws, and fiduciary duties.

As stewards of a community institution, we take seriously our responsibility to safeguard charitable resources, maintain accountability, and provide transparency to our supporters. Our priority is—and will remain—serving the community through the performing arts while ensuring that Playhouse Merced continues to operate with integrity.

We ask for the community’s continued support and patience as this matter is addressed through the proper legal and regulatory channels.
