Why Satan hates Jesus, Jews, and the Church

May 22, 2025

Rev. Dr. Eric N. Haley

The Devil, Lucifer) hates Jesus is because Jesus defeated him as a man. Jesus did not use any of his divine powers to take authority in the earth back from the devil after Adam and Eve had sinned in the Garden of Eden.

When God created Adam, God gave Adam authority over all the earth. Genesis 1:26-27, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

Satan tried to usurp God’s authority in heaven and change the order and times of things that God had established in his own sovereignty (prerogative). Stop and think for a moment how the devil has confused the definition of a human being with all this nonsense of transgender, fluid, nonbinary, asexual, etc. The list goes on.
The Bible explains in Philipians 2:5-8, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

Satan and all the angels who followed him need a body on the earth to cooperate with them in order to have power and influence. Psalm 115:16 explains this phenomenon. It reads, “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.” Adam gave his authority to the devil when he and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit. (Genesis 3:6) But when Jesus lived a perfect life and fulfilled the Law of Moses and died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead, He got the authority back and gave it to the Church; his body on earth. Demons including the devil can’t act on the earth without a body. They don’t have the authority to do so. What does the Holy Spirit do when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit comes and lives in our body, The Church body is Jesus’s authority on the earth. (John 14:17)
I Corinthians 7:7-8 shows how Satan and his emissaries (demons) did not understand the hidden secret of the power of the crucifixion and subsequent resurrection. It states, “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which one of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.” Jesus’s shed blood was the price he paid for not only our salvation, but in order for us to live victoriously on the earth now! (I Corinthians 6:19-20)

The Old Testament is a Jewish document written; mostly in Hebrew, the Jew’s official language. God gave us a Jewish savior. And the Old Testament explains in Deuteronomy 7:6-8, the Jews are a chosen people. God promised that he would always keep a remnant of Jewish believers on the earth as a witness to HIM. That’s why over the years, Satan has gotten into the heart of evil leaders in the world to try and wipe out the Jews. He did it with Paraohs of Egypt; Herod in Israel; the emperors of Rome; and Hitler killed more than 6 million Jews in trying to eradicate their race. The killing of an entire race is called genocide.

Now you see it in our universities wherein the tide of antisemitism against the Jews has raised its ugly head again.

I remember as a college student in the l970’s, a Muslim student explain to me that Muslim countries were sending exchange students to America and their governments were paying these schools literary millions of dollars. There was one catch though. These Muslim governments said that a Muslim from their country had to be hired and head of the Islamic department at each college. This Muslim student also told me that one out of every ten exchange students were a trained terrorist. Since that time Muslims have migrated to America for one reason and one reason only; to initiate jihad, and conquer the United States of America. There are at least ten million Muslims living all over the United States waiting to launch a war within our borders!

The Church of Jesus Christ should be on the alert! The time for being passive and tolerant of all forms of evil are no longer passe. The church should be witnessing to the Muslims in love and explain to them that there is too much proof that God has a Son called Jesus. Muslims recognized Jesus as a good man, teacher, and one of the prophets, but not the son of God. Their name for Jesus is, “Isa,” They believe Jesus is coming back with a 12th Iman or holy man and will lead a Muslim conquest over all nations that are not Muslim. This is why Iran continues to want and try to annihilate Israel. Satan has gotten into the heart of these radical Muslim leaders because the Jews remind the devil and his followers that Jesus Christ is coming back for his Church and coming back to fulfill the 70th week of Daniel. Satan will use anyone and anybody to try and prove the God of the Bible is a liar. The Jews are a constant reminder to Satan that God is God alone and not him and His Word, the Bible is true.

The Muslims continue to ignore written history who mention Jesus as the Son of God. People like the Romans historian, Tacitus; Jewish historian Josephus, and of course the Bible itself. The classic verse is John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whomsoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” The Muslims like to refer to Moses. Well, tell them that Jesus is the son of God and prophet that Moses spoke of in Deuteronomy 18:15, “The Lord thy God will raise up onto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.” It’s time for the Church to carry out the Lord’s great commission mentioned in
Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15 & Luke 24:47.
Something to think about.
