Will Trump’s attack on Iran lead to the War of Gog and Magog in Ezekiel

Bible prophecy is history written in advance by the Old Testament prophets. Prophecy is centered on the first and second coming of Jesus Christ as well as God keeping his promises to his chosen people the Jews (Israel) and to his body of believers called the Church (or Christians).

One of the prophecies that was written in Ezekiel chapters 36-38 speaks of Gentile nations being preoccupied with the nation of Israel in the Last or Latter Days. The prophet Ezekiel predicted about 2600 years ago that a nation, Magog and the leader Gog would attack the nation of Israel in the future. God and Magog pertain to Russia. The prophet wrote in Ezekiel chapter 38:2-6, “Son of man, set thy face against God, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And thus said the Lord God; Behold I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army horses, and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour even a great company with bucklers and shield, all of them handling swords: Persia (modern day Iran); Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Gomer, (modern day Germany); and all his bands; the house of Togarmah (modern day Turkey/ Assyria/Asia minor countries); of the north quarters, and all his bands; and many people with thee.”

Russia has signed ally treaties with these countries. What that means is, if one of these countries has been attacked, Russia will come to their aide per their treaty. The good news when all this happens is that God will fight for Israel and defeat this Russian and Iran lead coalition of evil gentile nations against Israel.

This leads to another question. After God defeats Russia these other nations, will this vacuum in political power lead to the ascension of the final gentile world leader called the Anti Christ, the Beast? He will lead a new world order and establish a new world religion in which he forces all of mankind to choose this new world system or die a martyr. Revelation 13:16-18 explains it this way. “And he (the antichrist) causeth all both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” (666)

So, gentile dominated history is going to end like it started with the first great world empire in Babylon. Remember King Nebuchadnezzar wanted all his subjects to worship this 90 foot tall statue he created from the prophet Daniel interpreting one of his dreams. (Daniel 2:31-35)

During the final seven years of history the Antichrist will want the world to worship the image of a beast just like Nebuchadnezzar wanted the world to worship the image of his statue that he had created. So, if this scenario plays out like I think it will, that means the Rapture of the Church is closer than we think. (Read I Thessalonians 4:16-17 & I Corinthians 15:51-52)
