Darin DuPont for Merced City Council District 1

Darin DuPont is a Merced County native, born and raised, whose family has long ties to the Merced community. Being born and raised in Merced, Darin has learned that the community works hard for their accomplishments, and this is instilled in every person.

After graduating from Buhach Colony High School, Darin attended Merced College before transferring and attending George Mason University in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C.

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Public Policy, Darin strived to become the first in his family to obtain a graduate degree by applying to law school. Darin achieved that goal by attending the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, graduating in 2021 with a Juris Doctorate with a concentration in Water and Environmental Law and a concentration in Public Policy/Government Law.

Darin has always believed in helping and contributing to his community professionally. This is exactly the reason he returned to Merced to help advocate for people in Merced County as a civil attorney, ensuring their voice is always heard. Darin currently works as a civil attorney in Merced with a local private law firm.

Darin is passionate about advocating and serving his community, which is why he serves on the Merced County Jail Ministry Board, the McSwain Education Foundation Board, organized, established, and serves on the Hall of Fame of Buhach Colony High School for his alma mater, and recently served as a Board member with Merced’s Chapter of Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs.

Darin married his beautiful wife, Bianca Minor, in May of 2021 and they enjoy slow pitch softball at Joe Herb Park, traveling, and hanging out with their friends and family.
